New Orleans native, Jac Schmidt, received his first guitar at age
ten. As a youth he honed his vocals skills in church and youth
choirs. In the sixth grade he won first prize playing guitar and
singing at a local talent show. By the time he reached high school,
Jac was playing throughout New Orleans in a number of different
bands. At the age of 18 he wrote and recorded 2 original songs and
did a promotional tour in the South.
In Jac's early 20s he became the 1st tenor in the quartet,
Riverside. They performed throughout the south, at the 1984 World
Fair, and at stadium events. He also performed with Connie
Stevens at the Blue Room in New Orleans. He quickly became
known for his ability to sing Elvis.
In 2000, Jac moved to St. Louis where he met Rocky and Michelle
Rowe. Encouraged by friends to start performing again, Jac
became the member of a duo that played in and around the St. Louis
area. He joined Crossover in 2008 as a guitarist and vocalist.
Jac's vocal ability ranges from bass to high tenor and he does a
great Elvis Presley imitation.
