Lead Guitar
Guitarist Mike "Doc" Jula has been in music most of his life. Originally
from Chicago's South side, Mike played his first show when he was
just seventeen years old. Since then he has graced the stage
hundreds of times, from performances in and around Chicago, to
shows in St. Louis, and even as far away as Los Angeles. He has
worked in various types of bands, performing cover tunes as well as
original material. A longtime member of original Chicago (and now Los
Angeles) band Jupiter's Child, Mike's experiences have also included
playing on the very same stage that so many of his early influences
performed - the world famous Whisky a Go-Go, on Hollywood's Sunset
Strip. Additionally, he has taught private guitar and music theory
students on and off for many years.
Mike has been playing guitar since he was thirteen, and has a vast
array of musical influences, ranging from Jimi Hendrix to J.S. Bach.
Mike is conservatory-educated as well, having studied classical
composition and jazz guitar at Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt
University. The unique blend of classical and jazz formal training,
combine with the unmistakable influences of all the greats from rock
history, have molded Mike into an accomplished guitarist with his own
voice.
